We’re pleased to announce the very first Portsmouth Short Film Night! Happening Sunday, February 24 at 7:30pm, hosted by our kind friends at 3S Artspace, and completely free, Portsmouth Short Film Night is an event for up-and-coming independent filmmakers to screen and discuss their work and for cinema lovers to get a front-row seat to emerging talent.
The evening will feature a variety of short films from near and far, and a brief Q&A with the filmmakers will follow most films. The main program will last until around 9, but everyone is welcome to stay later to chat and mingle. It’s all about getting filmmakers and film fans together to show off their work, have fun, meet like-minded people, and maybe even be inspired. If that sounds like your cup of tea, why not come along?
Our inaugural line-up consists of nine very different films, from a pop-up book music video, to a comedy with a clever twist, to a documentary about a Peruvian quarry worker, and more. Eight of the nine are from local filmmakers, and one comes to us all the way from the UK. The films and the filmmakers who submitted them are:
- The Cola Man in Space
Tom Clark - Coming of Age
Dan Deering - The Guys Get Blindsided
Chris Spencer - Maine
Andrew Gibson - Near the Mountain
Flynn Donovan - Phosphorescent – The Waves at Night
Zack Richardson - Sweet Dreams
Justina Maji - These Candles Burn
Jordan Schopick - When at the end of my rope…
Ryan Harrison
Seating is limited and we anticipate a full house, so be there early to make sure you get a seat. Doors open at 7:00pm and screenings start promptly at 7:30.
